After a head injury, what can be done to help...

The Ventures Program is a comprehensive outpatient approach to improving the social, thinking, physical, vocational and community skills of adults with brain injuries. The program uses a group therapy model shown to be effective in reintroducing family members with brain injuries back to the home, community and work.

What can I expect?
After a comprehensive evaluation, St. Rita's Ventures Team will build a treatment plan with you and your family. Based upon the evaluation, you may participate in Ventures three days a week, five to six hours a day for six weeks. Your program may vary based upon your needs.

The team will work with you and your family to improve:

  • Safety
  • Homemaking Abilities
  • Physical Abilities
  • Social Skills
  • Work and Academic Skills
  • Financial Management
  • Community Adjustment

To accomplish these goals you will participate in group activities at our Easy Street Environment as well as go on community outings to promote adjustment to changing social environments.

Who is a Part of Your Team?
Your team is composed of speech & language, physical, occupational and recreational therapists as well as a neuropsychologist, vocational counselor and a social worker/case manager and most importantly you, your family and your doctor. Your teammates are all specialists in providing care for persons who have experienced head injuries.

Can I Benefit from Ventures?
If you or a family member has experienced a head injury, which continues to interfere with family, social, school or work activities, speak with your physician to see if the Ventures Program is right for you and your family.
