Transitional Work Department

What is transitional work?
Transitional work involves the development of a return to work strategy which allows the injured worker to transition back gradually to their original work responsibilities and still remain on the job. A Transitional Work Program can eliminate lost work time or at least decrease lost work time by providing rehabilitation opportunities at the work site. Early return to work benefits the employee and the employer.

What are the components of a successful Transitional Work Program?
There are four major components of a successful Transitional Work Program. They include:

  • Have the Program Designed by a Certified Transitional Work Developer
  • Write Appropriate Human Resource Policies to Support the Safe and Early Return of Injured Workers
  • Develop a Series of Work Responsibilities Which Allow the Injured Worker to Safely Return to Original Work Responsibilities
  • Identify and Monitor Outcomes to Ensure the Program Works Correctly
Let WORC put the pieces together for you.
