The Pain Education and Rehabilitation Center (PERC) provides a comprehensive
rehabilitation program to treat the disabling effects of your chronic pain.
The team of professionals works with you to teach the skills necessary to manage
the problems caused by your pain. Expected benefits from participation include:
- Decreased Reliance on Medications to Manage Pain Symptoms
- Decreased Symptoms of Depression and Anxiety which Often Accompany
Chronic Pain
- Decreased Time Spent with Doctors and in Emergency Rooms to Treat
Your Pain
- Improved Sleep
- Improved Family Relationships
- Improved Social Activities
- Improved Physical Condition
- Improved Ability to Return to Work Safely
During your first visit to the center you will receive a full evaluation by
the members of your team. If you have had chronic pain for an extended period
of time services can include a five-day a week program for six weeks to help
you overcome the limitations of your pain.
Our program does not provide a cure for your pain. But as a member of our
team we will teach you how to manage your pain symptoms and lessen the impact
of pain on your lifestyle. It is important to know treatment will not
begin at the time of the evaluation. Any interventions or changes in medication
will begin only after you are accepted for treatment.
