Part of St. Rita’s Medical Center of the Future expansion will be a new, state-of-the-art Café. The Medical Center is pleased to announce Ben Leonard, Findlay native, will be spearheading that project. Leonard most recently worked in Columbus for a contract food services company called Aramark, managing a half-dozen large clients including Bank One. For him, joining the staff at St. Rita’s is “coming home.”
St. Rita’s new Café will resemble one of the operations he directed in Columbus. Leonard will have many responsibilities in his new role including overseeing the day-to-day operations of the current as well as new Café, begin planning and purchasing the equipment that will be needed in the new space and ensure a smooth transition once the modern facility is complete in early 2007.
Each day, St. Rita’s Cafeteria serves about 1,500 meals. Leonard believes that will double with the construction of a new facility. He believes the Café will be a “destination spot” for Lima residents at lunch.
The new facility will be twice the size of the current one, with specialized gourmet food stations including sautéed items, a pizza station, a large salad and deli bar, among made to order grilled entrees.
Leonard brings years of valuable experience with him including management skills through Damon’s Restaurant. Leonard was responsible for opening the Lima Damon’s location.
He graduated from Findlay High School, and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Hotel/Restaurant Administration from the University of Tennessee in 1999.
