St. Rita's Employee Legends

Jan Kiene, for more than 40 years, dedicated herself to nursing and St. Rita's Medical Center. She exemplified our Core Value of Excellence as she completed her career with an outstanding record both personally and professionally. Her respect for Human Dignity and belief in the Sacredness of Life was reflected in the way she treated her patients. Her personal spirituality was apparent as she did her job and handled challenges in her personal life. Jan is described as "a living example of what faith can do".

In addition to her nursing expertise, Jan also has a special gift of artistry. Over her 40 years as an OR nurse she was frequently called upon to share her artistic talents. She made banners, posters, flyers and ads for St. Rita's. Her fine calligraphy graced Bibles and other personal documents for patients, co-workers, physicians and other friends.

Her Service also extends to the community where she has donated countless hours designing and personalizing community awards and certificates. She even turned fire hydrants in her community into real "works of art".

We are proud to name Jan Kiene, a Legend of St. Rita's.
