St. Rita's Employee Legends
Carl Hollar, in the Radiology department, demonstrates Excellence as a Core Value that immediately comes to mind for those who work with him. He strives for perfection and takes the initiative to learn new technologies and procedures. That initiative and quest for excellence was most apparent, when in getting ready for an American College of Radiology visit, Carl took it upon himself to become expert on some new equipment and then designed and did the teaching to make sure other staff were also expert.

His Compassion is evident in his interaction with patients. According to his co-workers, his "gentle touch and even temperament yield a rapport that is irreplaceable to co-workers, doctors, patients and families."

On many occasions Carl will remain in the room to reassure a patient who is afraid. He is especially caring to the elderly. This reflects is respect for Human Dignity.

Carl worked at the steel foundry until it closed. He then returned to school in his 40's and became a CT Technologist. He has been referred to by his co-workers as one of the most intelligent technologists in the department. His second career has provided St. Rita's with a first class staff member.
