Her Compassion is apparent. At least once a week, she brings in her homemade bread for the renal dialysis patients to enjoy during their treatments. Sheila says, "they need something to look forward to." She also shared her cooking skills in December, when, with the help of her husband, she prepared and served a holiday meal for the residents at a local senior housing complex. They repeated this excellent Service in February, with a special valentine meal as a gift for the same seniors. As a rehab nurse, Sheila helped coordinate the monthly Stroke Club meetings. Even though she no longer works in the rehabilitation area, she still assists with the group as a volunteer, again demonstrating her dedication to helping others. In her 35 years at St. Rita's, Sheila has repeatedly shown a selfless commitment to improving the quality of life of her patients and extending her dedication to service within her community. We are proud to name Sheila Eley, a Legend of St. Rita's. |
