Special Care

Most babies are born healthy and full of wonder. However, sometimes the need arises for more specialized care. For babies born prematurely or those having special health needs, St. Rita's is equipped with the region's only Level II special care nursery.

The nursery is staffed 24-hours a day by a:

  • Neonatologist
  • Pediatrician
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioners
  • Registered Nurses
  • Respiratory Therapists
  • Developmental Therapists
  • Nutritionists
  • Social Workers

This dedicated staff of highly trained specialists is available to meet the unique needs of their tiny patients.

Parents and family members are also welcomed and encouraged to visit and support their baby during the care and healing time in the special care nursery. Having the special care nursery available at St. Rita's offers peace of mind that if there is an unexpected problem with your newborn; St. Rita's is equipped to provide the specialized level of care required.
