Derma Scan

With skin cancer reaching epidemic proportions in this country, St. Rita's is committed to sun safety and skin cancer awareness. A Dermascan is an important tool for early detection of skin damaged by exposure to the sun and other factors. The Dermascan uses UV light to detect areas of damage. The test is painless and only takes a few moments. One of St. Rita's specially trained nurses or technicians will point out areas where the skin may be damaged. The examiner will discuss with the participant ways of preventing further damage and if additional medical guidance is necessary.

Dermascan screenings are provided to adults through the Healthy Lifestyles Center, West Central Ohio Regional Healthcare Alliance group of hospitals, at corporate health screenings and a variety of health fairs and community groups.
