,
a Nurse Care Coordinator at the Women's Wellness Center is often there
when someone first hears a breast cancer diagnosis, which can be devastating,
and provides immediate professional and personal assistance. Sue has
been described as a "branch of strength"
to those with a breast cancer diagnosis.
One patient said of Sue, "It makes a big
difference when you know you are not alone. Sue was there to explain
everything. She even gave me her number at home if I thought of something
else I wanted to ask". |
Sue's Compassion is readily apparent. Having been
through the journey herself, she generously offers her own experience as
a breast cancer survivor. She routinely gives her home phone number to patients
urging them to call her anytime, day or night, if they have a concern or
question. Because her sincerity and genuine concern are so obvious, Sue
is frequently called and counsels these frightened women "at
all hours of the day and night".
Sue's Service to others extends far beyond St.
Rita's. She is a Reach to Recovery volunteer for the American Cancer Society,
was on the start-up committee for the Allen County Relay for Life, chaired
the I'm Special Relay Team, is a parish nurse and participates in countless
other volunteer activities through St. Charles Parish.
We are proud to name Sue Morrisey, a Legend of St. Rita's. |
