Audio Visual Manager, might have said there are times when each of us just
can't "cut it". Dick is well known for his good humor and "painful puns",
but his many acts of kindness are often unknown because they are done quietly,
without any "public" comment. One of these acts literally involved being
able to cut it.
An elderly, retired physician became ill, had to be hospitalized and was
bedridden for several weeks during the summer. The physician and his wife
live on a large property with several acres. Dick, who knew the couple,
learned of the illness and the fact that they were very concerned about
the property becoming overgrown, but felt insecure about strangers on the
land.
Dick took it upon himself to mow the property several times during the very
hot summer, even tuning up the mower in order to get started. He did this
out of Compassion for this elderly couple.
The doctor eventually improved and was again able to see to his own property.
Dick did this Service without compensation or
expectation of recognition. It is one of many acts of kindness he performs,
quietly and privately… because it's the right thing to do.
We are proud to name Richard Hunter, a Legend of St. Rita's. |
