,
OB nurse, has given countless people the gift of life thanks to her efforts.
Debby was instrumental in creating the annual blood drive at Lima Central
Catholic High School. It is usually the first opportunity the students have
to donate blood and for many, it becomes a lifelong community service.
Debby and her husband Barry lost their son Jeff to leukemia while he was
a student at LCC, so they have first hand knowledge of the need for blood
and blood products.
The blood drive is now an annual event and Debby demonstrates:
- Compassion
by making the students less fearful;
- Excellence
by assuring the blood drive runs smoothly;
- Human
Dignity by drawing the blood and assessing the teen's
response;
- Sacredness
of Life by increasing the teens' understanding of their life-saving contribution;
- Service
by her continuing efforts with the blood drive, serving many adults
and children who must deal with blood disease every day.
We are proud
to name Debby Muskus, a Legend of St. Rita's. |
