Life Flight,
St. Rita’s emergency air transportation service since 1998, offers
helicopter transport services for traumas (pre-hospital services) and major
medical emergencies (inter-facility transports).
Once
St. Rita’s Life Flight dispatch receives a call, the helicopter is
dispatched and en route to the trauma scene within minutes, saving precious
moments for trauma treatment. Life Flight services are also available when
a patient is critical and the nature of their condition requires immediate
transfer to St. Rita’s.
Our highly trained flight crews include medical personnel
with backgrounds in emergency, critical care and flight. Our critical care
transport nurses maintain multiple certifications in life support skills
and many are either EMT-A (emergency medical technician, advanced) or EMT-P
(emergency medical technician, paramedic) trained. Our Life Flight pilots
have thousands of flight hours logged and constantly receive training to
keep their skills at the highest possible level.
In
addition to transporting emergency patients, St. Rita’s Life Flight
offers community outreach and education programs. |
