The Cancer Resource
Center is a library of books, brochures, magazines, videos, audiotapes and
other information. It is sponsored by St. Rita’s Regional Cancer Center
and the American Cancer Society. Information about types of cancer, prevention,
nutrition, diagnosis and treatment is available. There are also many different
types of educational and inspirational materials in the library. The Cancer
Resource Center is proud to offer the latest technology to its participants.
There are several computers available for use making it possible to find
worldwide information including the American Cancer Society Web site and
other national and international Web sites.

The
Resource Center is staffed full-time with a specially trained and certified
volunteer to direct you to the information you need. The mission of the
Cancer Resource Center is to provide a personal connection to the most current
information in a supportive, caring and confidential manner. The Center
is open and provided for cancer patients, their families, healthcare providers
and other community members. |

The Center is available to you at no charge. Resource materials
are available for use in the comfort of the library or to check out and
take home. Both St. Rita’s and the American Cancer Society regularly provide
materials for the Cancer Resource Center and computer access also makes
it possible to keep information up to date. In addition to St. Rita’s and
the American Cancer Society, area business and industry, individuals and
community groups contribute to the library.
