Patient Pride

At St. Rita's, volunteers lead a program for hospitalized female patients facing difficult illnesses. Looking better can mean feeling better and this nurturing service has been created to meet the emotional and physical needs of hospitalized women. Patients receive a visit from a dedicated and trained volunteer who may provide a hand massage, make-up application, facial and just make time to listen. Patient Pride is offered as a complimentary service to St. Rita's patients.

Patient Pride volunteers at the Cancer Resource Center act as hostesses in the lobby and reception area. Their main focus is to make the patient and visitors feel welcome. They visit with patients and caregivers, offer coffee and cookies, and explain the resource library.
