I Can Cope

I Can Cope is an educational support group and class developed by the American Cancer Society. It is designed for patients facing cancer and their caregivers and offers information and insight to deal with the issues a cancer diagnosis can bring. The I Can Cope program consists of four sessions addressing topics such as:

  • Understanding the Effects of Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy
  • Coping with Emotions and Feelings
  • Nutritional Needs During Cancer Treatment
  • Pain Management
  • Insurance and Legal Issues
  • Resources Available to Assist
The I Can Cope support group meets in the spring and in the fall of each year. Currently, St. Rita’s offers the classes in the fall and Lima Memorial sponsors the spring classes.
