St. Rita's Employee Legends
Walt Miller, Pastoral Care Coordinator, demonstrates our Core Values on a daily basis by the manner of life he leads. He extends hospitality and grace to everyone he meets, with obvious regard for the dignity of each person. He exemplifies Excellence as a Christian man, through his ministry at St. Rita's, in his role as Deacon in his own parish and in his care of his family.

An example of Walt's exceptional dedication is his response to patients in need. When he was home after a debilitating medical treatment, Walt heard a page that a patient needed to talk with someone. Without a second thought, he immediately took care of the concern.

He once drove a distraught former patient's medical record to him at home, because the man felt he needed it right away. Walt's only consideration was that on behalf of St. Rita's; the man's needs were met.

Walt's personal experience with serious illness has not drawn him apart from others, but rather, deepened his spiritual relationships with his co-workers and others. He teaches by his example as he continues his journey of faith with integrity and honesty.

He meets with many patients, families and others who are struggling with spiritual issues or concerns regarding care and treatment. He shares his experiences generously. With a truly understanding soul, he reaches out to others with Compassion.
