For the majority
of women, pregnancy progresses with few problems, but for some women, pregnancy
poses some health problems that may require hospitalization. That's
why St. Rita's has Antepartum Care as part of the Women's Surgical
Unit. Pregnant women experiencing health problems from high blood pressure
or persistent vomiting may need monitoring and special care. St.
Rita's OB Care Managers support pregnant women during this challenging
time and are available to answer questions.
Unfortunately, there are more serious times when pregnancy ends unexpectedly.
St. Rita's trained care managers and counselors from Social Services
work with the woman and her family supporting them during this difficult
time. The Social Services Department also provides an Angel Cart for grieving
families providing select comfort and memory items. |
